Each AI presentation tool requires a fair amount of user edits but Gamma produces the better content in our opinion.
Crucially, this round looks at the ways in which presentations can be created- from AI prompts to uploading documents.
Let's begin with Gamma and explore their features.
As we have mentioned, Gamma allows users to create website pages and documents as well as presentations.
The process still remains the same- you input an AI prompt and then select your theme. Gamma will then create cards that display the relevant information.
Designing web pages is an excellent feature and the design interface is still the same, so you can create custom elements and cards.
But for this comparison, we are focusing on the ability to create a PowerPoint presentation. Of which, it seems as though PopAi offers users the ability to do more.
Gamma allows users to import files, however you can't really enhance them. You cannot get answers from the file or refine the content you really want out of it.
Here we can see that I uploaded a 2023 Uber financial earnings document.
The AI produced a text summary as well as a card by card summary of the information, although the layout it was presented in was quite messy and didn't feel too user-friendly.
The overall result was quite a bit better than the preview. So even if you think the preview isn't looking good, Gamma will usually deliver a good end result.
As we have shown, PopAi allows users to create presentations from a file or a text prompt.
Whichever way you decide to create a presentation, the platform offers a great step-by-step guide to help you customize it.
You will see an outline and settings like word length, target audience, presentation type and more.
Here we can see that I started with uploading a Word file to convert to a presentation. PopAi even has a feature that can speak to your file and re-write it in terms such as "explain to non professionals."
PopAi's free plan has a lot of limitations on file uploads and presentation restrictions, but the Pro and Unlimited plans offer many more capabilities.
Here's the resulting presentation for the topic Discovery of the Moon.
It looks quite super similar to Gamma, clearly they have copied the UI and a lot of aspects of the application.
We also did notice some spelling and formatting errors as a result of some of the AI generation and document summarization. It goes to show that while PopAi offers highly advanced features, the quality of detail is still in the works.
At the very least, it's easy to check for those errors and edit them yourself, and PopAi allows for you to do that.
