About this design

Where the Chalkboard style comes from, and what it signals.

Chalkboard places the audience in a school gymnasium at halftime. The board is dark green #2A3B2F set inside a 10px tan wood frame #8B6B4A, with a soft inset shadow that suggests depth. Everything on the board looks chalked rather than typeset: lines are dashed, and faint eraser smudges sit off-center as evidence of a surface that has been used before.

The type pair is Permanent Marker for headings and Schoolbell for body text, both Google Fonts carrying a convincing chalk-on-board quality. Chalk white #F2F0E4 handles body text; chalk yellow #E8D44D handles emphasis. Both colors carry a faint 2-3px text-shadow glow as if dusted. The play diagram places white Os and yellow Xs on an abstracted court shape, connected by curved dashed arrows. Dashed yellow ellipses circle key numbers on data slides.

Sports teams, coaching presentations, gamified onboarding, and educational contexts where warmth and informality are assets all fit this theme. The visual coherence holds up because each unconventional choice, the frame, the glow, the smudges, has a clear function.

Use it for

  • Sports team season previews and halftime strategy sessions
  • Gamified onboarding or training presentations for new staff
  • Education and classroom lesson decks
  • Coaching frameworks and team retrospectives with a lighter tone

Skip it for

  • Financial reviews or board presentations; the wood frame does not translate to those contexts
  • Print handouts; the dark background and chalk glow require a screen to read properly

The slide design prompt

This is the exact text that gets sent to your AI.

Create slides in the 'Chalkboard' theme, a coach's green chalkboard. Background: dark green #2A3B2F inside a 10px tan wood frame #8B6B4A, with a soft dark inner shadow on the board. Typography: headings in 'Permanent Marker' and body in 'Schoolbell' (both Google Fonts with a handwritten chalk feel); chalk white #F2F0E4 for body text and chalk yellow #E8D44D for emphasis, every piece of text carrying a faint 2 to 3px glow of its own color, as if dusted. Headings are large uppercase chalk white, underlined with a rough dashed yellow stroke about 300px wide. Signature motifs: dashed chalk rules everywhere instead of solid lines; a play diagram of white O's and yellow X's connected by curved dashed arrows; hand-drawn dashed yellow ellipses circling key numbers; one or two faint eraser smudges, blurred light patches at 5 to 8 percent opacity, placed off-center. Lists use chalk numerals or dashes, never bullets. Strictly avoid: pure white #FFFFFF, crisp solid borders inside the board, gradients, photography, clip-art icons, rounded UI cards.

Use this theme for my slides. Ask me what the presentation is about first, then apply the theme to every slide.

How to use this prompt

From copied text to a finished Chalkboard deck in four moves.

  1. 01

    Copy the prompt

Use the copy button, or open it pre-filled in Claude or ChatGPT with one click from the panel on this page.

  2. 02

    Tell the AI your topic

The prompt instructs the AI to ask what your presentation is about first. A sentence or a pasted outline is enough.

  3. 03

    Generate and iterate

Ask for more slides or swap a layout. The avoid list at the end of the prompt keeps Chalkboard on-style while the content changes.

  4. 04

Or skip straight to a deck

SlideSpeak turns your topic or document into a finished Chalkboard presentation, exportable as PowerPoint or PDF.
