About this design

Where the Demo Day style comes from, and what it signals.

Demo Day is built around a single constraint: one idea per slide, set as large as it will go. The reference is the accelerator stage presentation, where founders have three minutes and a room that may be half-distracted by their phones. Content that competes with the spoken word slows a short pitch; every number here is big enough to read from the back row.

Poppins at 800 weight handles everything, with key numbers at 130 to 150px and supporting sentences capped at two lines around 40px. A single 8px orange #FF6B00 underline bar sits beneath the key word or figure on each slide with a 4px gap below the text. All content sits hard left-aligned against a 110px margin. A 12px gray #9B9B9B uppercase label in the top left names the section, letter-spaced at 0.35em. The background is pure white.

Founders who use this format show they know which number on each slide matters most. That clarity is more persuasive than a deck built to demonstrate design skill.

Use it for

  • Accelerator demo day and batch pitch presentations
  • Seed-stage investor meetings with tight time limits
  • Internal product reviews where one metric tells the whole story
  • Conference lightning talks under five minutes
  • Fundraising teaser decks for first-contact outreach

Skip it for

  • Detailed financial models; the format has no room for tables or multi-series charts
  • Academic or technical talks where the audience needs dense supporting information on screen

The slide design prompt

This is the exact text that gets sent to your AI.

Create a presentation in the 'Demo Day' theme: an accelerator pitch built for a three-minute clock. Background: pure white #FFFFFF. Text: near-black #111111 in 'Poppins' (a Google Font), the single bold geometric sans used everywhere. One accent only: orange #FF6B00. The discipline is one idea per slide, set huge. Key numbers at 130 to 150px, font-weight 800, tight letter-spacing. Supporting sentences short and declarative at 40 to 50px, two lines maximum. Under the single key word or figure on each slide, draw a thick 8px orange #FF6B00 underline bar with a 4px gap below the text. Everything is hard left-aligned against a wide 110px left margin. Top-left of every slide: a tiny 12px gray #9B9B9B uppercase label naming the slide, like TRACTION or TEAM, letter-spaced 0.35em. Charts are flat rectangles in #111111 with only the key bar in #FF6B00, no axes, gridlines or value labels. Strictly avoid: any second accent color; centered text; icons, shadows or gradients; rounded corners; bullet lists; sentences longer than ten words.

Use this theme for my slides. Ask me what the presentation is about first, then apply the theme to every slide.

How to use this prompt

From copied text to a finished Demo Day deck in four moves.

  1. 01

    Copy the prompt

Use the copy button, or open it pre-filled in Claude or ChatGPT with one click from the panel on this page.

  2. 02

    Tell the AI your topic

The prompt instructs the AI to ask what your presentation is about first. A sentence or a pasted outline is enough.

  3. 03

    Generate and iterate

Ask for more slides or swap a layout. The avoid list at the end of the prompt keeps Demo Day on-style while the content changes.

  4. 04

Or skip straight to a deck

SlideSpeak turns your topic or document into a finished Demo Day presentation, exportable as PowerPoint or PDF.
