About this design

Where the Polaroid style comes from, and what it signals.

Polaroid translates the instant photo wall into a slide format. Each card is a white frame with a 10px uniform border, a square photo area filled with a soft two-tone diagonal gradient placeholder, and a thick 42px bottom margin carrying a short italic caption in Playfair Display. Every card rotates a different few degrees and casts a soft shadow at 22 percent opacity. Washi tape strips, 74 by 22 pixels rotated about 40 degrees, hold the top corners in dusty pink #F4A6A0, sage #9EC3B0 and mustard #E9C46A.

The background is warm wall #E8E4DC. Headlines sit in Playfair Display; small labels use uppercase Work Sans with wide letterspacing. Serif captions belong on printed photographs, and the small-caps Work Sans label language reads as the handwriting on the back of a print. Color stays warm throughout: no neon accents, no hard shadows, no dark backgrounds.

The theme suits anything memory-adjacent: team offsites, product retrospectives, travel reports, graduation presentations. When that register would feel inappropriate, it becomes a liability.

Use it for

  • Team offsite recaps and retrospectives
  • Travel and culture reports that benefit from a scrapbook feel
  • Company anniversary or milestone decks
  • Portfolio presentations where the work is warm or lifestyle-adjacent

Skip it for

  • Financial or legal presentations where the casual aesthetic undermines credibility
  • Technical documentation decks where density and precision matter more than warmth

The slide design prompt

This is the exact text that gets sent to your AI.

Create a presentation in the 'Polaroid' theme, an instant photo wall. Background: warm wall #E8E4DC; text ink #3A352E, secondary #7A7367. Signature device: polaroid cards, white frames with a 10px border, a 150px square photo area filled with a soft two-tone diagonal gradient placeholder, and a thick 42px bottom margin carrying a short caption in 13px italic 'Playfair Display'. Each polaroid is rotated a different few degrees (between -6 and 6) and casts a soft shadow (0 10px 22px at 22% opacity). Washi tape strips (74x22px, rotated about 40 degrees, 80% opacity) in dusty pink #F4A6A0, sage #9EC3B0 and mustard #E9C46A hold the top corners. Headlines in 'Playfair Display'; small labels in uppercase 'Work Sans' with wide letter-spacing (both are Google Fonts). Numbers, initials and moments live inside the photo squares as content. Strictly avoid: real photographs, perfectly straight cards, hard-edged shadows, dark backgrounds, neon colors, sans-serif captions.

Use this theme for my slides. Ask me what the presentation is about first, then apply the theme to every slide.

How to use this prompt

From copied text to a finished Polaroid deck in four moves.

  1. 01

    Copy the prompt

Use the copy button, or open it pre-filled in Claude or ChatGPT with one click from the panel on this page.

  2. 02

    Tell the AI your topic

The prompt instructs the AI to ask what your presentation is about first. A sentence or a pasted outline is enough.

  3. 03

    Generate and iterate

Ask for more slides or swap a layout. The avoid list at the end of the prompt keeps Polaroid on-style while the content changes.

  4. 04

Or skip straight to a deck

SlideSpeak turns your topic or document into a finished Polaroid presentation, exportable as PowerPoint or PDF.
