About this design

Where the BCG Style style comes from, and what it signals.

BCG Style is inspired by the publicly visible design conventions of Boston Consulting Group's strategy decks: green action titles, double rules, the growth-share matrix, stacked column charts with values inside the bars, and the small source-and-note block at the bottom of every exhibit. This theme has no affiliation with or endorsement by Boston Consulting Group. It is a homage to an instantly recognizable document tradition.

The fonts are Arimo for running text and bullet lists, and Gelasio for the small-caps company wordmarks in the green footer band and the title slide. Both are Google Fonts. The signature header is a bold green action title in #177B57 followed by a 3px green rule with a lighter #8EC6A1 echo line beneath it. Charts use two greens, #177B57 and #21BF61, with bold white value labels inside each bar segment and totals above. A rotated copyright line runs vertically up the right edge of every content slide.

This is the format for portfolio reviews, M and A analyses, and strategy presentations that need to read as serious professional-services work. The growth-share matrix slide, with its Stars, Question marks, Cash cows and Dogs quadrants, is the exhibit the whole theme is built around.

Use it for

  • Portfolio strategy presentations for boards and executive committees
  • Competitive landscape reviews using a growth-share framing
  • M and A target screening and investment thesis decks
  • Internal strategy refreshes that need immediate credibility

Skip it for

  • Product or marketing decks; the formal structure works against narrative storytelling
  • Creative or brand work; the green-and-gray palette leaves no room for visual identity

The slide design prompt

This is the exact text that gets sent to your AI.

Create a presentation in the 'BCG Style' theme, an unofficial homage to the classic growth-strategy consulting deck. Background: white (#FFFFFF). Typography: the plain neutral sans 'Arimo' throughout, with the serif wordmarks in 'Gelasio' (both Google Fonts). The signature header: every content slide opens with a full-sentence action title in bold green (#177B57), sentence case, 15 to 25 words allowed across two lines, followed by a full-width 3px green rule with a thin light green (#8EC6A1) echo line just beneath it. Body text is dark gray (#4A4A4A) in exactly two sizes; emphasis comes from underlining single words and bolding lead phrases, never from color. Title slide: white, with a dark gray bold title up to three lines, a lighter subtitle and date, and a solid green (#177B57) band across the bottom holding a white small-caps 'Gelasio' company wordmark; the title slide also carries a logo placeholder, a dashed 1px box labeled 'YOUR LOGO' in letterspaced caps. An 'Agenda' slide reappears as a tracker: the current section bold green, all other sections gray (#B2B2B2). Two-column slides put a centered, underlined lead-in statement at the top of each column, keyed by small solid green circle badges with white letters. The signature exhibit is the growth-share matrix: a 2x2 with quadrants labeled Stars, Question marks, Cash cows and Dogs, market growth on the y axis, relative market share on a reversed log-scale x axis (high on the left), and circles sized by revenue. Charts carry an all-caps gray kicker with units in parentheses, stacked green columns (#177B57 and #21BF61) with bold white value labels inside segments and totals above the bars, and a tiny 'Sources: ...; team analysis.' block with a 'Note:' line underneath. Every content slide has a rotated copyright line running vertically up the right edge, a tiny source-file name bottom-left, a centered green small-caps 'Gelasio' wordmark in the footer and a plain page number bottom-right. Strictly avoid: colors outside the green family and grays, gradients, drop shadows, decorative imagery, topic-label titles, legends where direct labels work, claiming affiliation with Boston Consulting Group.

How to use this prompt

From copied text to a finished BCG Style deck in four moves.

  1. 01

    Copy the prompt

Use the copy button, or open it pre-filled in Claude or ChatGPT with one click from the panel on this page.

  2. 02

    Tell the AI your topic

The prompt instructs the AI to ask what your presentation is about first. A sentence or a pasted outline is enough.

  3. 03

    Generate and iterate

Ask for more slides or swap a layout. The avoid list at the end of the prompt keeps BCG Style on-style while the content changes.

  4. 04

Or skip straight to a deck

SlideSpeak turns your topic or document into a finished BCG Style presentation, exportable as PowerPoint or PDF.
