Where the Morgan Stanley Style style comes from, and what it signals.
Morgan Stanley Style follows the firm's 2023 design system refresh: a deep custom blue, black brought back as a second core color, light sans headlines, and chart colors in a fixed order. We applied that look to a Morgan Stanley presentation template for the portfolio review, the meeting a wealth client sits through once or twice a year. The theme is an unofficial homage with no link to Morgan Stanley.
The colors come from the firm's published brand material. Morgan Stanley blue sits near #003060, a shade the firm mixed from its legacy #003366 and a darker banker's blue. Charts use #265b8e, #778090, #187c56 and #6431ca in that order. Morgan Stanley Sans has no public release, so Public Sans at weight 400 sets titles and numerals, and Karla, the body face on the firm's website, sets the text.
Use it when you report to a family on their money. Goal tracking is the signature slide: each goal gets a rail from 0 to 100%, a shaded 70% to 90% target range and two dots, so your client sees where each goal stands and how far it moved since the last meeting.
