But first, let’s take a look at how you would generate a presentation with Gamma.
A quick look at Gamma
As you can see, we used a Gamma suggested prompt of “Seminar on the psychology of decision making”. Gamma then generated a rough outline of the slides in a vertical card layout. These are the slide titles.
By the way, Gamma calls slides cards. It’s a little confusing initially but you’ll soo pick it up!
We can’t individually edit each slide but that isn’t always needed.
As seen in the video, we can set the amount of text for the cards. Gamma defaults to the medium option which is usually appropriate but it is nice to have the customization option.
You can also set the source for your images which is unique. Most presentation creation tools offer that functionality after the presentation has been built.
You can see how each individual slide is filled out by the AI. All these slides can be adjusted using the editing panel on the right hand side.

Firstly, SlideSpeak AI is a relatively new platform when compared to Gamma, but you wouldn’t know that from using it. You can use SlideSpeak to summarize information from your documents which proves very popular with consultants, educational institutions and students.
But we think the best thing about SlideSpeak is that you are able to create PowerPoint presentations from your personal files, prompts, chatbot summaries and much more.
Whilst Gamma focuses on design and the cards, SlideSpeak focuses on using AI to produce the best PowerPoint content. This focus on AI means the content produced by SlideSpeak often contains more in-depth text than you would produce in Gamma. The content is just a level deeper and that is why it is a great Gamma alternative.
All you have to do is upload your required files and let SlideSpeak do the rest!
How to create an AI presentation with SlideSpeak
Uniquely, SlideSpeak allows users to redesign existing presentations by simply taking the existing content and inserting it into one of their templates or your own. But for this example, you can decide if you would like to create your presentation from a topic or an uploaded file. In this case, we will select the custom file option.
You can upload a variety of files, including Excel, documents, PDF’s and PowerPoints.
Simply select the desired file that you have saved locally and upload it to your SlideSpeak account. The file will then be stored in your account.
The AI will then analyze the file and ask you how you wish to customize the presentation. To name a few examples, you can modify the number of slides, language and tone of voice. The AI will then generate an outline of the presentation it will create.
This is a great way to check if the presentation will cover the topics you wish to use. By having this check in place, SlideSpeak ensures the user can produce content that they want, rather than what the AI wants. Something that sets SlideSpeak apart from Gamma.
The presentation will then be generated, typically taking under 30 seconds.
Users are then presented with a preview of the presentation. Once you are happy, you are able to download the presentation in PowerPoint or PDF format.

To begin, you can create a presentation from scratch using an individual or complete slide template. You can also add a prompt of your choice. Either way, we recommend opting for generating a presentation with AI.
In this example we added the prompt of “Managing change in the workplace”. We didn’t opt to train the AI with additional context but that is a very cool feature that we recommend you try.
The speed of the whole process is fairly similar to Gamma so both tools prove to be efficient.
Within beautiful.ai, you don’t get too much choice in selecting the theme before creating the presentation. That’s not ideal in our opinion as it just involves more editing after the fact, which is what we are trying to avoid by using a tool like this.
However, a huge bonus of beautiful.ai is the ability to easily switch slide layouts within the presentation editor. This simple but effective design tool, allows you to easily tweak the look and feel of your presentation without possessing high level design skills. You can access this feature in the left hand side panel. We have highlighted exactly where you can find the button.
Then it’s up to you to edit the presentation as you see fit. Just like Gamma, the platform offers drag-and-drop functionality, along with a variety of design elements, so it is easy to add or delete stuff- even if you are not very technologically advanced.

How to create an AI presentation with Visme
You can chat with the Visme AI Designer to describe the presentation you want to create. The AI will give you some suggestions which can be quite useful- especially if you have a bit of writer’s block.
Whilst you can create a blank presentation and add your own designs, we recommend using one of Visme’s themes.
You can do this by browsing through Visme’s extensive library of presentation styles after you have given it the presentation prompt. These are varied by style and purposes such as business, education, creative, etc. Select the theme that best suits your needs.
Once you have selected your theme, the AI will create your presentation and present you with the first draft.
Just like Gamma, you can click on any text box to edit the content. You can change the font, size, color, and style using the text editing tools. You can also prompt the AI to create additional text for your presentation.
Use the left-hand toolbar to add images, icons, shapes, and other media. You can upload your own images or use Visme’s library of stock photos and icons. We don’t think the images that Visme offers are as good as Gamma.
If you need to present data, you can add charts, graphs, and tables. Visme offers customizable data widgets that can be easily edited to fit your data.
We really liked the ability to add animations to your visual elements. This is why Visme is a great Gamma alternative. Not many tools on this list support animations so this is a very cool feature!

Much like Gamma, this platform has been designed for working professionals so if you fall outside of that bracket- maybe consider some of the other platforms on this list.
How to create an AI presentation with decktopus
Let’s assume you use the decktopus AI to get started. Present the AI with a basic explanation of what your presentation is about.
It will then ask you who your audience is. Try and be as specific as possible here.
Once you have completed that step you will be offered a variety of themes you can use to make your presentation look appropriate.
You will then need to add in all the slide types you may want e.g. cover slide, text + image slide etc. This does make presentation creation slower than Gamma but you can copy layouts over from another deck if you have used the platform before.
You can then add different elements and customize the slides.
Whilst this is a good platform, if you’re planning on using the decktopus AI- you are limited to a certain amount of credits per month. So some of your presentations may need to be made with templates then filled out manually.

This is also where you can edit the design and color scheme. You will immediately notice how different to Gamma the layout of the presentation is.
Once you’re happy, you can begin to edit the slides individually using the in-app editor- which we love!
Just like in Gamma, you can ask the AI to rewrite some sections or provide some inspiration on points to add to your text. The interface is very good so you should be pretty quick at editing the presentation.
We think Prezi is great and super unique. But we found the AI content was not as good as other platforms, including Gamma. Perhaps this is better for design than AI. For AI-assisted content creation, other platforms like SlideSpeak and Beautiful.AI might be more suitable options.
